Derrin is originally from Zanesville, Ohio. He graduated from High Point College in 1982 and then joined the family real estate business in Ohio. This is where he established his diverse real estate background:

real estate needs. Derrin is married to Susan, also a High Point College
graduate, and has two boys, Drew and Alex.
